More Summer Adventures
If you feel the Autumn blues coming on as the weather starts teetering to the cooler degrees and you suddenly feel the urge to grab a warm blanket or put on a jacket, no worries because I have more summer tales to share with you before we start talking about walks in color changing forests and those brown and orange festivities.

As you well know by now, Catalunya is famous for its summer festivals in Barcelona's neighborhoods and surrounding towns. As soon as I got back from sunny Formentera, I prepared myself for Gracia's festivities, where the streets are extravagently decorated, the beer is cheap and the people celebrate. And so Gracia it was. On the first night Oriol and I made our way to the quaint neighborhood, suddenly filled with thousands of people and I found my favorite street, Verdi, with this year's theme: Lucha Libre! yes folks, Mexican wrestling.

We made our way through the narrow and busy streets, from stage to stage, dancing to a little ska, some really bad rock and some hip swaying reggae. Once the party closed down and we started heading home, we found a makeshift DJ on his balcony playing some of the best music we had heard all night. Within seconds, the street filled with people cheering below and dancing their hearts away. I love how Barcelona is so capable of pouring its heart out.

After some time of picture taking and dancing Oriol and I decided to get out before the cops came and closed it down, bursting the little bubble of joy this absolute stranger had created. We finished the night with laughter in our veins and music in our hearts.

The next big event was a special surprise visit from my very good friend Domenico! Straight from Milano, Domenico stopped for a few days in Barcelona after two years of not seeing each other. We met in the center, had a great lunch, admired how great we both looked and headed straight to the beach to spend a few precious hours catching up, soaking in some rays and waiting for another amazing friend, Dario.

I Love you Boys!!
Of course, there was yet another night at Gracia with my roomies and MK:

And Mary Katherine's big premiere, playing the drums, which she rocks by the way...

And her very sexy fan club cheering her on:

There was yet another famous dinner at the house to celebrate summer:

Yet another neighborhood festival where I found a street dedicated to none other than Heidi and Pedro (don't we look alike??)

The magic of carrying your camera in your purse--sexy mannequins making their way down a side street early in the morning:

One last festival in St Cosme where we watched some strange yet awesome Indie Rock bands and had the honor of meeting Quim visiting from Argentina and taking his camera bag very seriously, just like a good cowboy should:

And finally, most precious, Little Gerard growing, loving NY even though he has no idea what it is, but growing ever so magically.

And in a nutshell that was my summer...unforgettable...
