He's Become a Man

Yet another special day has been celebrated. This time it was Jordi's turn to age one more year and enter the world of the thirties. Idoia decked him out with a surprise party two weeks after his big day so he wouldn't know what was coming. A small group of his closests friends waited excitedly for him. We greeted him with cheers, laughter, cava and a decadent chocolate cake.

It was wonderful to see all the happy faces waiting for him and to see his face full of shock at the beautiful smiles. Best of all, it was personally an honor to recognize him as someone part of my life and the person I have shared my personal space with the last few months. In fact, to look at all the faces there and to know that they have become a part of my life. In one way or another we have shared moments which we can't ever forget, late night dances, dinners over the wooden table, dreams, and fears, even if it was at the crack of dawn. Most of all, Jordi has opened a world of information to me and has taught me things about living freely, full heartedly and open to change and new adventures.

This one is for you Jordi: I wish you all the happiness in the world. I hope love forever stands at the foot of your bed and that you never taste loneliness, hatred, or fear of lack. I hope life abounds you with what you need and when you don't get what you need, you are blessed with the wisdom and understanding that perhaps it isn't meant to be. I hope your friends never forget your smile and much less that wonderful laugh you burst out in. I hope you always walk with a skip in your step and that you never ever forget to dream. Many many more years my darling one and live large never fearing the love that appears before you. Happy 30 years buddy!
